Hiring and Internship Frequently Asked Questions

We receive many inquiries related to becoming an acupuncturist, schools and internship opportunities. Prior to reaching out to us, please read below to learn about how we structure hiring.

What is the best method to increase the likelihood of obtaining a job interview?

We consider applicants who: provide a well thought out personalized cover letter, have a current R. Ac designation and generally if we feel it will be a great fit. We receive a high volume of resumes. Only those proceeding to the interview stage will be contacted.

Does the clinic offer internship opportunities?

No. Our clinic unfortunately does not accept interns or volunteers. We’ve made a difficult decision to shift our focus instead to extensive in-house mentorship and continuing education internally amongst our staff. We simply don’t have the resources allocated to manage, staff and facilitate an internship program at this time. Our busy clinic is uniquely a single room practice and the patient/therapist dynamic is personal. We’re sensitive to our patient’s privacy and space. We do our best to support the acupuncture community in other ways.

What professional designations/titles of Acupuncturists do you consider?

ONLY those with the R. Ac designated by the CTCMPAO.
We do not consider the following applicants:

Those with the Student Class memberships of the CTCMPAO.
Acupuncturists from anywhere without an R. Ac designation. Regardless of country of study, experience or academic training.

I’m interested in Acupuncture schools. Do you know of any?

Absolutely! A few of our favorite Toronto Acupuncture schools include Eight Branches, AIM and the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Please reach out to them directly for learning more about becoming an Acupuncturist in Ontario. We don’t provide consultation on post-secondary schools.

Do you provide general information on becoming an Acupuncturist?

No, we do not provide generalized career advice or “network” with those other than prospective R. Ac candidates. Instead, we suggest reaching out to one of the above schools and checking out the Acupuncture Information Centre, a fantastic resource for Ontario Acupuncture school/career advice.
